Welcome
Quantum Beam Materials Physics Division (Condensed Spin Matter Group in Department of Physics) focuses on spin-related quantum phenomena in hard condensed matter. We mainly use neutron diffraction/scattering and other quantum beam (x-ray and muons) techniques to elucidate interested physical phenomena through detection of an arrangement of magnetic moments and their motions. Research subjects such as frustrated magnetism, spintronics materials, and superconductivity, are currently running. Parallely our expertise also covers single crystal growth, macroscopic properties measurements and development of novel observation methods using neutrons. We will welcome future students who are curious about spin-related phenomena from crystal growth to such powerful microscopic measurements. (research content)
New students will be broadly welcomed. What about doing research in the hgihly expertised lab? We also develop a polarized neutron instrument at J-PARC, now is thus an excellent time for starting to use neutrons!
