Magnon Mediated Superconducting Pairing in a Very Lightly Doped Two Dimensional
Mott Insulator
I start from a very brief reminder of the conventional BCS phonon mediated
mechanism of pairing. Then I explain structure of the ground state of the
Mott insulator which is the parent compound for cuprate supeconductors.
I also explain nature of quasiparticles, holes and magnons, which are excitations
above the ground state. I consider interaction between holes and magnons
and specifically address the Adler's relation which is important for the
mechanism of hole pairing. Finally I demonstrate pairing of holes, discuss
nodes of the superconducting gap, coexistence of superconductivity and
static magnetism, and scaling of the superconducting gap/temperature with
doping.
